Labaran Maku, Nasarawa State Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Emir of Lafia, Isa Mustapher-Agwai.

Maku on Saturday in Lafia, said he received the news of the death of the Emir with shock, after hearing that his condition was getting better.

“May his soul and the souls of all other prominent Nigerians who died recently rest in peace with the Lord,” Maku added.

He said the state has lost a father whose wealth of experience would be missed.

“We pray that God will reward his good deeds and grant him eternal rest. Our hearts and thoughts are with the people of Nasarawa Emirate in this sad moment.

“It is my prayer that the Almighty God will grant his soul eternal rest and the Nasarawa Emirate, family and friends the fortitude to bear the loss,” Maku said.

The Emir died on Jan. 10 and was buried on Jan. 11, at the palace cemetery.
