A 35-year old man Michael Igbanibo has been arrested by the Police at New Oko Oba Station Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria for defiling his daughter.
The 15-year old girl ran to the station to report that her father has been having sex with her since 2017 and whenever she refused he will threaten to stop paying her school fees.
The victim also told the police that her father aborted pregnancy for her and that when she reported the matter to their church pastor, her father stopped her from going to the church.
Following her complaint, the police immediately arrested the suspect.
The suspect was later released on bail but the Human Rights Office ordered that the suspect be rearrested.
The case has been transferred to Isokoko Police Station and the suspect would soon be charged to court.
The investigation Police Officer (IPO) at the station, Inspector Stella declined to speak with our reporter and the OC JWC/Human Rights of the station Inspector Modupe could not be reached to comment on the case.
