The Ogun State Police Command has shot dead three members of an armed robbery gang at Fidiwo along Lagos/Ibadan expressway.

The three suspects were shot dead following a distress call received by the policemen attached to Owode Egba Division that robbers were robbing one Jumoke Ogunbade, a popular bush meat seller who had gone to the area to meet her bush meat supplier.

On receiving the information, the DPO of Owode Egba Division, CSP Sheu Alao quickly led his Anti-robbery team to the scene where they exchanged gun shot which lasted for about 30 minutes.

At the end of the encounter, three members of the syndicate were gunned down while others escaped into the nearby bush with gunshot wound.

Recovered from the dead robbers were: one locally made single barrel gun, one shot double barrel gun, one single barrel muzzle loading gun, one live cartridge, a wrist watch belonging to the victim of the attack and cash sum of #10,220.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu commended his men for their gallantry display and quick response to distress call.
