Lt.Gen Tukur Buratai, Chief of Army Staff
Pained by the killing of some troops in Plateau state, the Nigerian army has vowed to lock down Barkin Ladi completely.
The army said that no human being is going to cause further havoc in that local government.
“I lost some men yesterday (Friday) because certain persons have decided to take laws into their hands,’’ Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Maj.-Gen. Augustine Agundu, said.
Agundu who was reacting to the killing of the soldiers working with the Special Task Force, Operation Safe Haven, said: “The peace on the Plateau has been disrupted to a situation that is no longer acceptable.’’
“I have declared enough is enough. What happened in Barkin Ladi will never repeat itself again.
“Whatever is going on in Barkin Ladi local government, Riyom Local Government, Bassa Local Government, Bokkos Local Government, that is enough. My troops are resolved to bring the situation decisively under control.”

The Army promised to clampdown on armed bandits terrorising residents of Plateau State and stop the incessant killings in state.
He described the recent killings in the state as precarious and an act of lawlessness. He vowed that the troops were set to deal with the situation decisively.
Agundu disclosed further that the three soldiers were killed in action by some attackers.
He also bemoaned the proliferation of arms in the state.
He urged leaders of Plateau communities to get their youths to decorum so that residents of the communities can go about their business peacefully and without fear.

When are they going to lock down sambisa?
Both d army or d navy either d nigeria air force will recruit u if u don’t speak Hausa language or a god father in a big rank……God will safe us with all d generals and so called coas
thats not the point here.. its not about joining the military but protecting innocent civilians .. let them do what they are paid to do.. its their job… they knew what they signed up for
My brother, they left people without connections who really are destined to join without connections and started recruiting those with connections from high places over d years. Hardly will u find anyone who join ordinarily without great recommendation. Except God/Allah blinds their eyes. But how many? I feel so sorry that we are so divided when it comes to recruitment.
its a big same that the crisis just got the attention of the COAS immediately after the senseless murder of 3 of his men who took oaths to protect Nigeria from foreign and domestic as against those of 1000 to 3000 helpless civilians that have been murdered in the past 1 to 2 years alone.. LT Gen!! what have your men been doing on the plateau? what tactical intelligence and manoeuvre has the army incorporated to deal with this miscreants..
remember all lives matter, esp those of woman and children.. it shouldn’t be of what ever directions we pray to or the cloth we wear or if we decide to eat grains or meat ..
please deal.. and for the solders who passed on.. i salute you!!
we are still in fear …
These Nigerian Troops are poorly fed. What happens to the billion Naira budget each year to the Army. APC-led government and the Army Chief of Staff must explain? It is a reproach to hear that the Army vowed to lock down Plateau just because it lost 3 soldiers, while it could not do the same for Sambisa Forest in Borno State, Boko Haram stronghold, which has taken the lives of over 2000 Nigerian soldiers.
You are s man. Join army instead of hiding behind your mother to talk. Coward!
?????? what are you on abt!!! obviously u are a corporal or young officer.. maybe 1star.. is it now the COAS knows abt the killings on the plateau just cause of 3 men? we have lost far more than that..
So sorry about that okay. . But, as for me, i really want to join this military. But no Godfather to put me. Am so ashamed of my Niger Deltans who didnt represented us well
