Future Energy Africa conference: Kachikwu, global industry experts to meet

Over 300 high-level delegates from over 50 countries, including over 30 government ministers and 1,500 global industry attendees are among those to meet for the Future Energy Africa 2018 3-day power-packed conference and exhibition dedicated to advancing future oil, gas and energy solutions for the continent.

Oil The Event, powered by the Department of Energy, Republic of South Africa would be taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC2) from the 1st to the 3rd of October 2018.

It is aimed at pulling, among the delegates, over 50 technical experts, 50 exhibition companies and over 60 conference speakers who would assemble to share knowledge and discuss potential solutions to Africa’s oil, gas and power.

Speaking on the importance of the conference, the Managing Director, Danvic Concepts International, Dr Mayowa Ife said the three-day event promises to be a valuable platform for interactive networking and knowledge exchange.

He said as Sub-Saharan Africa moves towards a low carbon energy future, events such as the Future Energy Africa Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference 2018 are providing valuable forums for the international oil, gas and future energy industry to debate the issues directly with Africa’s leaders.

He said other sessions to take place include; Africa’s IOC-NOC’s discussions which would centre on re-inventing strategies and promoting industry-wide collaboration to meet Africa’s energy needs and that on Confronting the challenges of transformation and oil and gas policy frameworks for Africa’s growth.

Earlier, the editor, Orient Energy, Mrs Margaret Nongo Okojokwo said the conference will feature ministerial and panel discussions on regulating and transforming the hydrocarbon sector to foster a secure, sustainable and affordable energy landscape.

She said among those to be at the conference are Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum and Resources, Dr Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu; the South African Minister of Energy, H.E Jeff Radebe and the Ugandan Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, Hon. Irene Muloni among others. She said the conference will discuss upstream and downstream and refining issues affecting Africa’s future oil and gas.

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, The McErnest Company ( of McErnest 360, media partner), Mr Kemdy McErnest said the Future Energy Africa Conference and exhibition will provide an intensive tour across Africa wherein insights on the issues confronting Africa’s business and socio-economic needs will be shared.

He said other discussions to take place would centre on Business luncheon in Africa, future energy mix and discussions on the reduction of greenhouse emissions and the role of renewable energy.
