Media personality and producer Ik Osakioduwa has written the most heartfelt amazing note ever to his son as he turns 9.
He Wrote:
From the day you were born my life changed. I knew from the moment I held you in my arms that I would think about you first before spending money recklessly, living dangerously or partying excessively. I knew your future would matter more to me than anything in the world. I’m so glad I get to call you my son. And I’ve learnt so much about how God loves me just from thinking about how I love you. I want you to know that even though I push you to ALWAYS be the best version of yourself, there is no mistake you could ever make, crime you could commit, or failure you could experience that could ever make me stop loving you (or love you less). As you grow older I may not be as cool to you as I am now, but I hope you know that you can always trust me. I’ll always tell you the truth and offer help the best way I know how.
There will be days when I scream at you, punish you or lose my temper. Heck, there may still be a few butt-woopings in your future (I’m an African parent). I pray on those days when I am not as eloquent at communicating my love for you that you remember this message and once more be convinced of my love for you.
I ask only a few things of you:
Do the best you can according to God’s standards. Be grateful for the things God has done, and will do, for you. Keep being kind & considerate. Strive for excellence in everything. Live well & Love hard. And lastly, please justify the crazy school fees your mother @kidskulture and I have been paying by doing well in school and at work. We love you. We ALWAYS will. Happy birthday Sahar. You are my favourite 9 year old in the world.
