A former lawmaker representing Kosofe constituency in the Federal House of Representative, Dayo Alebioshu-Bush has called on Muslim faithful in Lagos state and by extension Nigeria to continue to pray for peace and progress of the nation and remain content in their entire endeavour.

Alebioshu-Bush made the call in his Sallah message released by his media office. He urged Nigerians to use this moment of celebration to pray for peace and progress of the nation and also show love and kindness to their neighbours and particularly the needy.

In his words, he said: “While we continue to celebrate with our family, friends and loved ones, we must also spare a moment to pray for peace and progress of our Nation to overcome numerous challenges confronting us, and especially as we approach a critical moment in her history, that is the electoral season. We must also extend our love and kindness to our neighbours and especially the needy.

“As I rejoice with all Muslims on this day, I wish to reiterate the significance of this season, it goes beyond feasting, as we prepare to offer our sacrifice for festival, the real essence should be to encourage sacrifice and self-discipline, and this must reflect in all that we do. There is no better way to make this day memorable in our families and communities, than for us to embrace one another with love as brothers and sisters.

“Let us further commit to peace and orderly conduct in all our dealings by allowing the spirit of sacrifice, contentment to rule our hearts as epitomized by the Holy Prophet. It is only on peace and unity we can build an edifice of progress and development as a nation. I therefore felicitate with you for witnessing another Eid-Kabir.”

Alebioshu-Bush, who is also the convener of Young Alliance, an advocacy group mobilizing young people to show active participation in politics, also encouraged Muslims and non-Muslims to show interest in the leadership of the country by first going to pick their permanent voters card, which would enable them choose the leader and representative of their choice at all levels.
