The Director of the Stephen International Children school, Ogun State, Rev Isaac Newton has confirmed that not less than 19 students who were displaced by the Boko Haram menace in the northern part of Nigeria have graduated from the school.

The director made this known to pressmen in Ogun while graduating scores of their students.

Newton expressed gratitude to God for his guidance over the students and staff of the schools even in the face of challenges which threatened the existence of the school.

He said “We are very excited because today is a great day for us all, Stephen Children Home and Stephen international Children school have today as remarkable day.

“Today, we have to thank God who has called us to this work. Today, 19 of our students who have been displaced by Boko Haram across the northern parts are graduating today.

“We must thank God for this feat because like I have said earlier 19 students displaced from the northern part are also graduating today and we pray that they will succeed in life.”

The representative of Christian martyrs in Adamawa state, Mr Jerry Ochoechi also corroborated the director, saying the school was one of its kind, adding that the government should do the needful over killings in the north and in the country entirely.

His words,”I was born in Benue State but brought up in Adamawa State, Yola. I schooled there from my Primary school to tertiary institution level. Presently I am a seminary and an Ordained minister with the Christian movement in Nigeria.

“We have a bitter experience in the north, most especially the issue of the Fulani herdsmen, it is just ethnic cleansing and the government is not doing anything about it.

“Whenever we see fighter jet flying in the north, we already understand that attacks have begun somewhere but the military will only go there to protect the herdsmen. The military has sworn with both the Bible and the Quran to protect lives and properties; they should do as promised.”

Widows who lost their husbands during the menace but have children in the school also appreciated the school management.
