Armed bandits have killed a former Commissioner for Education in Katsina state, Prof. Halimatu Sa’adiya Idris, along the notorious Kaduna-Abuja highway.
Senator Shehu Sani representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly confirmed the death on his twitter handle on Monday.
Sani tweeted that the former education commissioner was killed by armed robbers along the Abuja-Kaduna expresswa on Sunday.
Reports revealed that the late professor was killed along with several other travellers when their vehicles were attacked by the bandits near Gidan Busa village, located between Jere and Kateri along the expressway.
Some of the travellers were also abducted by the bandits.
Senator Sani promised to raise the matter on the floor of the senate.
”Professor Halima Sadiya Idris;Killed along with others along the Kaduna Abuja road.Its killings and kidnappings everyday.Life is cheaper than sachet water today.The Government has failed the people on this road.I will raise it on the floor of the senate, Insha Allah,” Senator Sani tweeted.
