The Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard has intensified its campaign for more participation of residents in the on-going voters registration exercise and PVC collection in the Lagos metropolis by taking the awareness campaign to motor parks in state.

Speaking at PVC Collection Summit organised by the Women Leader of the group held at the RTEAN Secretariat, Igando, Lagos, the wife of the Chairman of Road Transportation Employers Association Of Nigeria (RTEAN), Lagos Alhaja Kudirat Mohammed said the primary objective in their efforts was to encourage the people, especially the women to come out and participate in electoral process.

According to her, frantic efforts were being made to mobilize five million votes for the Governor of Lagos State Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode in 2019 general election to be able to complete the numerous projects being done across the state.

She noted that women have a lot of roles to play in the 2019 general elections.

Mrs Mohammed lauded women for supporting Ambode-led government, saying the governor had initiated a lot of programmes to support the women folk.

She commended the state coordinator, Seyi Bamigbade, for his untiring efforts to sustain the tide of mobilizing teeming Lagosians to collect their PVCs and vote in the right direction for the re-election of the governor.

Earlier, the Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vanguard Women Leader, Adebukola Otufowora at the event that brought together wives of RTEAN executives across the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas, implored women to join hands with her in the sensitization of women ahead of the 2019 elections.

Adebukola said: “I called on all our women to remain in the crusade at the grassroots for our amiable Governor Ambode, especially to ensure that they participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and collection of the Permanent Voter Card (PVCs).’’

She said women alone could deliver more than three million in the 2019 elections, saying it was high time the women folk leveraged on their population and influence on their children and husbands to have a voice in the nation’s political arena.

Also speaking, the president of Association of Micro Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (AMEN), Comrade Prince Saviour Iche, commended Governor Ambode for his performance, saying he is optimistic that the governor would win the 2019 governorship election in the state.

Saviour assured the Itesiwaju Ipinle Eko Vangaurd of their support, saying that Micro entrepreneurs would always support the dreams and aspirations of the group to mobilize for votes.

He charged all his members to persuade more people key into the process by registering to vote in the 2019 elections before the exercise would end on 17th August.
