Turkey will sell 30 locally made ATAK helicopters to Pakistan, the country’s Defence Industries Office said on Friday, marking the second major arms deal between the two majority Muslim nations.

“A deal for the sale of 30 T129 ATAK helicopters has been signed between the two brotherly countries,’’ the statement read, adding Turkey would also provide the Pakistani army with logistics and training services.

The statement referred to the ATAK helicopters as the “most effective attack helicopter in its class’’.
