The All Progressives Congress (APC), United Kingdom chapter, has pledged support for the national chairmanship of the party bid by former governor of Edo, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

Leader of the chapter, Mr Ade Omole, announced the support to the candidate in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja.

He described Oshiomhole as the best man for the office of the party chairman, at the moment.
Omole said that APC members in the Diaspora would be happy to have Oshiomhole as chairman of the party, especially as the 2019 general election approached.

According to him, what the party needs at the moment is a pragmatic and visionary national chairman with experience to address its challenges in most of its state chapters as well as ensure victory in 2019 elections.

The leader expressed optimism that the former governor had what it would take to unite and make the party all-inclusive.

He commended other chairmanship aspirants for their courage, zeal and foresight to withdraw from the race in realisation that Oshiomohole was a better candidate for the position.

He urged the supporters of those aspirants and other APC members to stand behind Oshiomhole to move the party forward.

Omole called on Nigerians to continue to support the APC-led Federal Government, saying that the party meant well for the country.

“The future of Nigerians is guaranteed with the APC in government; in spite of challenges, the party remains the best option for Nigerians,” he said.

With the withdrawal of Mr Clement Ebri, a former governor of Cross River, on Thursday, and two others earlier, Oshiomhole has become the sole aspirant for the party’s chairmanship.
