2 dead as wooden boards fall off Ojuelegba bridge

Two people have been confirmed dead at Ojuelegba, Lagos when a truck carrying wooden boards crashed against the railings of the Ojuelegba bridge and woods fell on three vehicles and people under the bridge.

The accident occured this night.

General Manager of Lagos State Emergency Agency, Mr Tiamiyu Adesina who confirmed the accident said the truck did not fall off the bridge as reported by some television stations but that the plywoods it was carrying fell off the bridge onto two commercial vehicles and a private car under the bridge.

Apart from two persons that were confirmed dead, the wooden planks also injured many people. ”Those injured have been rushed to the hospital,” he said.
