As Muslims across the world, mark the 2018 Eid-el-Fitr, the Nigeria Union of Pensioners(NUP) has expressed greetings and called for more prayers for Nigeria.
The Secretary-General of the union, Elder Zal Actor, made the call in a statement on Friday in Abuja.
Actor urged Nigerians to make individual sacrifices for the betterment of our nation and the greater good of humanity.
He appealed for more prayers from all citizens irrespective of their religious affiliations, for peace and unity in the country.
The secretary-general also stressed the need to care for the less privileged in the society.
Actor called on Nigerians to eschew all forms of recrimination and imbibe self-sacrifice, forgiveness and other higher virtues that promote national unity and development
He, however, urged Muslims to imbibe the spiritual lessons of the festival.
He equally called on all pensioners to pray and support political leaders in the country, who are dedicated to ensuring that the dividends of democracy reaches their doorsteps especially pensioners.
