45th Anniversary: NYSC plans campaigns on HIV/AIDS, drug abuse

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) says it is planning campaigns on public health issues such as HIV/AIDS and drug abuse in Zamfara, as part of activities to mark the 45th anniversary of the scheme.

The state NYSC Coordinator, Hajiya Walida Isa, made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Gusau on Friday.

“As we are all aware, the NYSC management, staff and corps members will be marking the 45th anniversary of the scheme nationwide from May 28, 2018.

“In Zamfara State, we plan to embark on environmental sanitation by NYSC officials and corps members at Gusau New Market on May 30, 2018, by 9 a.m.”

Isa said that there would also be public enlightenment on health issues such as HIV/AIDS and drug abuse on May 31, 2018 at Gusau Central Motor Park by 9 a.m.

“We are using this medium to call on all stakeholders and members of the public to cooperate with us to succeed in the exercise,” she said.
