The maiden edition of the Lagos Bridal Fashion Week (LBFW) kicked off yesterday, Friday 4th of May, at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos and would run until Sunday the 6th of May, 2018.
The three-day event, which is the first of its kind in Nigeria, was conceived and organised by Call Her Classic Fashion Agency as a means to fill a void in the multi-billion naira wedding industry in the country.
The event is expected to cater for the needs of weddings and also, to showcase the latest in bridal fashion.
The event featured a Panel session and Master classes by top-notch designers and professionals in the wedding industry.
Also present at the event is a bridal boutique for both local and international vendors from other African countries, UK, USA and Dubai, with clothes, shoes and accessories put on display for sale between 10 am and 6 pm.
The peak of the event was the runway show, and it was graced by the presence of the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Hon Dayo Adeneye and a host of other invited dignitaries.
The runway show kicked off on the first day by 8:55 pm with the first batch of 8 designers showcasing their talents and pieces to a room filled with bridal fashion experts, editors, photographers and more.
The designers who had their works on the runway include Bridal by Ivy, Elizabeth and Lace Bridal, Otumemine, Poosh Bespoke, Shadiat Alasooke, Yemi Shoyemi and Bibi Lawrence.
