An Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State on Wednesday slammed a three-month imprisonment on an 18-year-old boy, Olanrewaju Anjuwon, for stealing phones worth N34,000.

Magistrate Banji Ayeomoni, who handed down the verdict, did not give convict an option of fine.

He said the sentence should serve as a deterrent to others, especially teenagers, who engage in stealing.

The accused, an artisan, whose address is unknown, had pleaded guilty to the charge of stealing preferred against him.
