Nasarawa state recruits 40 special education teachers

Nasarawa State Government has employed 40 teachers into the newly established Comprehensive Special School, Lafia.

Prof. Jonathan Ayuba, Commissioner for Special Education, Science and Technology, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen on Wednesday in Lafia.

Ayuba said that out of 135 candidates interviewed, 40 were selected base on merit.

He added that the selected candidates were screened by panel comprising five Professors, State Universal Education Board, Teaching Service Commission among others.

He explained that the ministry has stated issuing appointment letters to the successful candidates.

According to him, all the 40 candidates have degree in various fields of special education.

Ayuba said that the next phase of employment would be for the supporting staff.

“The staff would be properly trained in line with the curriculum of the school,” he added.

He, therefore, assured members of the public that the school would maintain high academic standard.

It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had inaugurated the Comprehensive Special School, Lafia, when he visited the state recently.
