The Just Foundation, an NGO of Al-habibiyyah Islamic Society, has commenced training of 45 Imams and Islamic clerics in Abuja on how to sensitise the public to the fight against corruption in Nigeria.

The Foundation’s Executive Director, Imam Adeyemi Fuad, made this known on Thursday in Abuja at a one day sensitisation programme for the scholars.

He said that the Foundation through its anti-corruption Project termed: “Encouraging Accountability and Transparency Through Faith-Based Intervention (EAT-FIn) was out to change the narrative on corruption in Nigeria.

He advocated the involvement of faith based organisations in the fight against corruption in the country.

Fuad said the sensitisation and training would be taken to the six geopolitical regions of the country.

The programme brought together various Imams and Scholars to enlighten them on their roles to encourage transparency and accountability with a view to achieve a just and economically viable nation.

Earlier, the guest lecturer, Dr Tajudeen Adigun, an Islamic scholar called on Muslims to rise against corruption, noting that all messengers sent by Allah were tasked to fight corruption and injustice in the society.

The Coordinator of Project, EAT-FIn, Dr Rakiya Momoh-Abaji said the programme was conceived to encourage all Nigerians to take part in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
