Edo Government says it will partner with individuals and corporate bodies to make teachers and pupils Information and Communications Technology (ICT) compliance, especially at the basic education level.
The Deputy Governor, Mr Philip Shaibu, made this known on Thursday in Benin when he received an NGO, Afashio Progressive Association, led by its Chairman, Mr Sunday Kadiri on a courtesy visit to the Government House in Benin.
Shaibu said the state government was determined to make education system easy for pupils, students and teachers, while expressing appreciation for the association’s contributions toward making governments projects successful.

He also lauded the group for their contributions at ensuring that all the schools in their localities have ICT facilities, saying government alone could not do it.
He charged them to ensure that all the teachers in their localities were available for the ongoing ICT training, saying government was poised to train 1,500 teachers across the 18 local government areas of the state.
The deputy governor assured that by the time the state government partnered with the association, all the issues they raised would be a thing of the past.
Earlier, the spokesman for the group, Mr Marcus Eruaga, appealed to the state government for more facilities in terms in ICT, security and accessible roads in the area.
