M.D Drags Customer To Court For Stealing N16m Trucks

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jayjibs Ventures, Alhaji Jimmy Ibrahim has dragged a customer, Kehinde Samuel before a Lagos Magistrate Court for allegedly selling the two trucks valued N16m he leased to him without his consent.

Also charged with him for allegedly receiving one of the trucks valued at N8m was Michael Shotikare.

The arrest of the accused persons was ordered by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG in charge of Zone 2 Command, Lagos, Adamu Ibrahim following a petition by Alhaji Jimmy Ibrahim.

The duo were arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate Court on a five-count charge of felony to wit, obtaining two trucks under false pretence and stealing.

Police Counsel, Fransis Igbinosa informed the court in charge No. K/13/2018 that the accused persons committed the offence in January 2014 at Ojodu area of Lagos.

Igbinosa told the court that the first accused, Samuel falsely claimed to be the Managing Director of Jummad Global Ltd to leased the two trucks with Reg.Nos KRD 827 XB and KRD 828 from the complainant for economy purpose with a promise to be remitting the sum of N1.3m to the complainant for the leasing.

Igbinosa said that instead of fulfilling the agreement he had with the complainant, Samuel converted the trucks to his use and sold one to the second accused.

He said the offences the accused committed were punishable under sections 409, 326, 285 and 10 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and Magistrate N.A Layeni granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

Layeni adjourned the case till 26 March, 2018 for mention and ordered that the defendants be kept at the Ikoyi Prison till they perfected the bail conditions.
