Zamfara state government has approved over N1 billion for the expansion of the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau and landscaping of the 100 Housing units along Kaura-Namoda road, Gusau.

This is part of the state Executive Council meeting held at the Government House, Gusau on Monday, as revealed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday by the state Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Danjari Kwatarkwashi.

He said the state government had approved the procurement of more medical equipment as well as the expansion of the Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital at the cost of N670 million with upfront payment of 70 per cent of the sum to the contractor, T-Global Link Nig. Ltd.

The commissioner said that the project is expected to be completed before the 7th year anniversary of the Gov. Yari’s administration in May, 2018, when it is also expected to be commissioned.

The commissioner said, the sum of over N702 million was approved for the contract of road network and electrification of the 100 Housing units, which was awarded to Syndicate Nig. Ltd, with a completion period of 12 months.

He said, this was in addition to the approval for the immediate recruitment of 100 additional medical doctors, 300 nurses and 23 other health personnel in the state.

The commissioner expressed confidence in the state government’s determination to meet the yearnings of the people.
