The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approved the use of Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna for Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna in the ongoing 2017/2018 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The Information Officer, Niger Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Malam Mohammed Mohammed made the disclosure in Minna on Friday.

Mohammed said that the NFF approved the stadium on Thursday for use by Niger Tornadoes for all their home matches.

“After renovation of the stadium, supervised by top management of the ministry of sports; Bako Kontagora Stadium had been fixed with new state of the arts facility.

“It is as a result of this development that the NFF deemed it fit to approve the stadium for all the home matches,’’ he said in a statement.

The statement added that Niger Tornadoes would engage Abia Warriors of Umuahia at the stadium on Saturday in the NPFL Match Day 10.

Before now, Tornadoes had played two seasons in Lokoja, Kogi, as a result of the renovation of Bako Kontagora Stadium where they finished 11th position respectively in 2015/2016 and 2016/2017.
