In its drive to sensitize and re-orientate the Nigerian youth on the need to desist from the act of drug abuse, the Lagos State Government has nominated Asisat Ohsoala, the African woman footballer of the year as its anti-drug ambassador.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Agboola Dabiri at the weekend.

Dabiri noted that the average Nigerian youth could aspire and achieve success without the use of harmful substances which could pose inimical damage to their l wellbeing as well as their future.

According to Dabiri, the choice of Oshoala was premised on the fact that all her achievements were based on self discipline, focus and dint of hardwork, adding that every youth could reach the peak so long the needed principles were followed.

The commissioner expressed the readiness of the Lagos State Government in encouraging and providing the enabling environment for the average youth in the area of sports, entertainment, entrepreneurial skills as evident in many programmes and policies being put in place by the Ambode administration to ensure that all youths were gainfully and positively occupied to contribute their quota towards nation building.
