The Madinatul Ahahab Waltalamiz Islamic School, Daura in Katsina State, has trained 464 students on Quranic recitation.

40 of the students, aged between 13 and 23 years, were trained to memorize the entire Holy book.

At their graduation ceremony on Saturday in Daura, Sheikh Haruna-Rasheed, the leader of the school, called on parents to support their children to acquire moral education.

“Moral education is good for the children; parents should encourage them to acquire it along with modern education,” he said.

The cleric said that the school had more than 400 branches nationwide, and urged governments, organizations and individuals to support moral training and the pursuit of Islamic education.

Alhaji Tanimu Bindawa, the Katsina State Commissioner for Religious Affairs, in a remark, commended the management of the school for achieving the feat, pledging that government would continue to support the pursuit of religious education.

Bindawa reiterated government’s commitment to promoting moral education as part of efforts toward a better and morally upright society.

The Zonal Director of the school, Sheikh Naziru Daura, said that the graduating students comprised males and females from 45 branches of the school in Daura Local Government Area.

He commended the Katsina State Government, parents and the Daura emirate for their regular support and wise counsel to the school.

The Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar, who also spoke at the ceremony, called for collective efforts toward combating unwanted behaviours among children.
