Mr Charles Micheletti, Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), Ghana chapter has urged Nigerians in the Diaspora to contest for positions in the 2019 election.

He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the telephone from Accra, Ghana on Monday that their participation would make a difference in the election.

“ With the release of the 2019 election timetable by INEC, we, (APC) Ghana chapter, wish to encourage Nigerians in the Diaspora to return home and contest for any position.

“ Nigerians living abroad are more exposed, experienced and can tackle challenges of their constituents effectively. It will be good for our people to return and take this opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of democracy in our country,” he said.

Micheletti said two members of the Nigerian community in Ghana had indicated interest to contest for seats in the Lagos state House of Assembly.
