Olivier Giroud’s late strike earned Arsenal a draw at Southampton on Sunday.

Charlie Austin had scored in the third minutes of the game to give the host a 1-0 leaded and held on until Arsenal struck late in the game.

Per Mertesacker plays a loose pass out of defence straight to Charlie Austin, who plays it ahead to Dusan Tadic and surges forward.

Tadic holds it up and then plays a sublime reverse pass into Austin’s path, with the striker calmly clipping it past Petr Cech. It was a clinical from Saints but another woeful early defensive error from Arsenal.

Giroud has barely featured since coming on but the Frenchman has grabbed the equaliser for Arsenal.

Alexis Sanchez finds some room on the left and stands up the cross, with Giroud rising up above his marker to flick it past Fraser Forster’s dive and into the bottom corner.

That goal draws Giroud level with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the most goals by a substitute in Premier League history.
