Liverpool produce a masterclass display to demolish Brighton 5-1 away from home on Saturday.

Emre Can opened scoring for Liverpool on 30 minute with a thumping header from a corner after Brighton’s defence falls asleep.

Roberto Firmino scored a quick second goal for Liverpool on 32 minutes. He finished the best move of the match as he slots home Philippe Coutinho’s ball across the box from the left following a driving run by Mo Salah, who had been set free initially by a cute touch by Firmino.

Moments after Glenn Murray is denied by Simon Mignolet’s legs, Liverpool counter and Mo Salah’s clever pass found Firmino to prod past the advancing Mat Ryan.

Glenn Murray scored a penalty as Brighton pulled one back to make it 3-1.

But Coutinho made it 4-1 for Liverpool on 87 minutes. Coutinho coolly scores Liverpool’s fourth goal with a low free-kick – Brighton’s wall kindly jumping to allow the ball to roll into the net.

Lewis Dunk’s own goal complete the rout for Liverpool. Coutinho’s ball into the Brighton penalty area is inadvertently headed into his own net by Lewis Dunk.
