The Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA 2017, which was held at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre, Lagos, Nigeria, was indeed a successful event, but we doubt if same can be said of the event for Nigerian singer, Seyi Shay who accidentally fell on the AFRIMA stage last night while performing her latest hit track, ‘YOLO YOLO’.
Seyi Shay stormed the stage and had an electrifying performance going on before she tripped and fell in between her performance.
The accident occurred while the 31-year-old singer was dancing barefooted on the stage, but she was quick enough to pick up her microphone to continue with her performance as she did not let her fall ruin her performance.
Seyi stood up without any show of abashment and continued her performance which was backed up by four dancers.
It can be seen from the video of the fall, which has since gone viral online, that the singer who was dressed in black pants and a long-appendaged jacket had stepped on the tail of her jacket which caused her to trip off as she moved on the stage.
However, midway through her performance, Seyi recalled the incident by saying “the devil is a liar”.
