The Ogun State Police Command has rescued a Chinese Lee Xian Qiang from his abductors.

PMNEWS gathered that Lee Xian Qiang was kidnapped by six armed men at Ogere area along Lagos-Ibadan expressway at about 5pm on Monday while on his way to Abeokuta from Kogi State.

The case was reported to the Ogun State Police Headquarters and the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu dispatched FSARS operatives led by their Commander DSP Uba Adam to the scene with a clear instruction to rescue the victim unhurt.

The police team, it was learnt, located the hideout of the kidnappers.

On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums opened fire on them and the police replied. One of the kidnappers was arrested during the gun battle. Other members of the gang escaped with gunshot injuries while the victim was rescued unhurt.

The arrested suspect is helping the Police in their investigation. The victim who was full of praise to the Police has been re-united with his people

The Commissioner of Police appealed to residents of the state, especially hospitals and other health workers, to report anybody with bullet injury, if seen in their area.
