The National Headquarters of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has suspended academic activities at the Minna study centre of the International Institute of Journalism (IIJ).

Malam Mohammed Mohammed, the Chairman of NUJ, Niger Council, disclosed this to newsmen on Friday in Minna.

Mohammed said the suspension was part of the efforts by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the union to reposition the institute for better service delivery.

He said that the State Executive Council (SEC) of the union had equally deliberated on the measure taken by the national headquarters and adopted it.

“The resolution of the congress was the adoption of a pronouncement by the National Headquarters of NUJ, to that effect,’’ he said.
