The Emir of Lafia, Isah Mustapha-Agwai 1, has advised youths to always exhibit good conduct and desist from engaging in acts that could hamper their progress and destiny in life.

The Emir gave the advice on Monday in Lafia.

Mustapha-Agwai said that no nation could develop without the functional and ambitious youths.

He urged them to shun social vices and embrace western education and engage in meaningful ventures, to become self-reliant.

“As a traditional ruler, we are the custodian of people, peace and culture and it is our role to preach peace to our subject and Nigerians at large,“ he said.

He noted that peace, which was priceless and non-negotiable, is a necessary requirement for the development of any nation.

The monarch said that youths were the backbone of social, economic and political development of the nation.

“If youths want to achieve their ambition in life, they should aspire to be something by not depending on others.

“They should also embrace western and religion education by engaging in meaningful ventures, to become self-reliant and contribute to national development,’ ’ he said.

Mustapha-Agwai urged youths to always shun crime and be agents of positive change in their interest and in the interest of development. He advised them to pursue the attributes that would make them self-reliant, instead of allowing themselves to be used by selfish individuals to cause mayhem.

He urged the people of the state and Nigerians to continue to live in peace and tolerate one another, irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliations.
