The Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to provide the Police and other security agencies in the State with modern crime fighting equipment so that they can discharge their responsibility of making the community safer and more secure in the face of emerging security challenges.

The State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode stated this on Thursday at the commissioning and handing over of renovated Magodo Phase 1 Police Post to the Lagos State Police Command.

Ambode, represented by the State Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Oluseye Oladejo added that the renovated Post was a fulfillment of his administration promise not to relent in his commitment to ensure that criminal minded elements do not find comfort in any part of the State.

He appealed for a cordial relationship between the people of the community and the Police Personnel, saying that an atmosphere of mutual trust must be created and nurtured for effective policing, especially at the community level.

The governor disclosed that similar Police Post was handed over to the State Police Command last year at Ayobo, Mowo Nla, Isheri and Mosafejo in Oshodi Local Government Area.

He further stated that the Noforija Police Statation in Epe Local Government is nearing completion and will be handed over very soon.

Chairman, Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, Alhaji Ayodele Oyesanya thanked the State Government for the provision of the Post as well as other social infrastructure within the Council, assuring that the Police Post would be put to proper use.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, represented by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations), Ali Mohammed appreciated the efforts of the State Government for its usual habit of coming to the aid to the State Police Command.
