Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi made his second straight start of the new Premier League season as Leicester City defeated newly promoted Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
Completesportsnigeria.com reports that Ndidi’s Nigeria international teammates Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho were not included in Leicester’s squad for the game.
While Musa was left out for tactical reasons as he was last week against Arsenal, Iheanacho is nursing a minor toe injury.
A goal in each half from Shinji Okazaki and new signing Harry Maguire secured Leicester their first win of the new campaign after losing 4-3 to Arsenal in their first game.
Leicester got off to a flying start as Okazaki pounced on a rebound in the first minute following wonderful play from Riyad Mahrez to open the scoring.
In the 54th minute, Maguire made it 2-0 to Leicester after heading in Mahrez’s corner.
The win took Leicester to ninth in the league table on three points.
