As part of efforts at decongesting traffic on the Marina – Apongbon axis, the Lagos State Government has commissioned a newly built bus park at Ajeigboro, Marina.

Speaking at the commissioning and official handing over of the park to members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business District, Mr Agboola Dabiri said the decision to create a bus park at Apongbon axis was taken at the State Executive Council meeting where the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode mandated his agency to create the park as part of effort at seeking lasting solution to the incessant traffic situation experienced in the axis.

The Special Adviser revealed that with the commissioning and handing over of the facility to members of the union, the State Government will no longer tolerate the picking and dropping of passengers by commercial vehicles from broad street, Marina and Apongbon.

He warned that any vehicle flouting the directive not to pick and drop passengers along the designated route will have their vehicle impounded and driver prosecuted.

I therefore urged you to make good use of the facility and ensure that the purpose of creating the park which is to decongest traffic on the Marina – Apongbon Axis is not defeated”
