Mr Boboye Oyeyemi, Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), has called on Jigawa Government to establish additional driving schools in the three senatorial districts of the state.

Oyeyemi made the call on Thursday in Dutse when he visited Gov. Muhammad Badaru at Government House.

He said that the establishment of the driving schools would assist the state to produce trained and professional drivers.

He added that it would also help in reducing road crashes caused by untrained drivers.

He expressed the hope that the initiative would ensure safety and security of passengers and limit destruction of goods.

“The initiative will also serve as a source of Internally Generated Revenue for the state.

“It will also help to get accurate information of passengers leaving various motor parks across the state,’’ Oyeyemi said.

Responding, Gov. Badaru said his administration would look into the possibility of establishing driving schools in the three senatorial districts.

He gave assurance that the government would partner with the FRSC to reduce road accidents in the state.
