Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of  Sokoto State has  urged  the staff of  the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) to strive to be more diligent in the execution of its programmes in the state.

Tambuwal made the call in Sokoto on Friday when he flagged off the distribution of  motorcycles to  local government staff officers of IFAD.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor also distributed vehicles to officers of  the Climate Change Adaptation and Agribusiness Support Programme (CASP).

He said that the state government, in collaboration with IFAD/CASP, had provided the officers with all the necessary working facilities.

The governor, who said this  was in order to ease their hardship, urged beneficiaries   to reciprocate the gesture by ensuring service delivery.

“The government will not relent in its effort toward  boosting farming activities in the state;  as such  we are in the fore front of giving out  counterpart fund on time,’’ he said.
