Police distribute Public Complaints leaflets in Kano

The Nigerian Police Force has distributed thousands of Public Complaint Rapid Respond Unit (PCRRU) communication contacts in line with the Federal Government’s policy to fight corruption.

The Kano Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Magaji Majiya disclosed this to newsmen shortly after the distribution exercise in Helicopter in Kano metropolis on Wednesday.

Majiya said the Inspector General of Police (IG), Mr Ibrahim Idris initiated the Public Complaint Rapid leaflets.

He said that the leaflets contained some numbers to be used to call the Headquarters on any complaint against any police officer.

“Whether it is an extortion, illegal detention, illegal arrest, illegal detention and otherwise,” he said.

Majiya said that the numbers are working 24 hours with either text message, WhatsApp , BBM, Twitter or Facebook to access police office anywhere in Nigeria.

The PPRO added that the number could reach the force under the IG office for any complaint against junior or senior police officer.

He called on the people of Kano to make good use of the numbers in order to improve the good image of the Police.
