Mayhem is ongoing in Apapa area of Lagos as a policeman attached to Diamond Bank on Burma Road allegedly shot dead three trailer drivers.
Irate mob have set the Diamond bank on fire as the management of the bank refused to release the trigger-happy policeman to the mob.
PM News gathered that a trailer driver wanted to park in front of the Diamond Bank since the entire Burma Road had been overtaken by indiscriminate parking by trailer and tanker drivers.
A policeman attached to the bank was said to have objected and in the process, a brawl ensued. The policeman was alleged to have fired at the driver, killing him immediately, while two more drivers were also shot dead as they tried to intervene.
A source in the area told PM News that the policeman retreated into the bank after allegedly carrying out the act.
Trailer and tanker drivers were said to have regrouped and demanded from the bank to hand over the policeman to face jungle justice, but the refusal of the bank proved fatal as the mob set the bank ablaze.
The policeman was said to have escaped. Anti-riot policemen have been drafted to the area to maintain peace. Policemen are now patrolling the area to forestall more crises.
An eyewitness in the area said other banks have closed down for business to avoid being attacked by the truckers as tension brew in the area, especially banks on Warehouse Road.
A top police officer told PM News that more policemen were being drafted to the area to nip the crisis in the bud.

So, so unfortunate that with the level of civilisation we still have barbarians around and mixing up with normal beings too. How else would you explain the attitude of a supposedly trained personel towards the very people he is engaged to protect? That’s not to say I am approving of the behaviours of some of these drivers. Two wrongs don’t make a right. The trailer driver was most likely not as literate as the security personnel at the bank so i would’ve expected him to be more civil and diplomatic about the whole issue. God will give us a better appreciation of human lives so we can be more accommodating of those who don’t see things the way we do.
You should always crosscheck the facts before feeding the public with fake news. You said three people were shot dead. This was not so, the victim is alive and recuperating at Lagoon hospital at Apapa. Only the trailer conductor was shot. What the policeman did was wrong, the motor boy was harmless and no amount of provocation justify the firing, but exaggerating the issue to me is too bad. I will advise you to come to Apapa and see the unruly behaviour of these drivers, making life difficult for people because of their illegal parking of trailers. I think the Government needs to do something about this.
I don’t know why our policemen nowadays, who are supposed to be dedicated and committed to maintain peace in the society usually cause disaster and bloodshed. Even if the driver refused to obey his order, he has no right under the law to shoot him, he should have disciplined him in another lawful way. Also, why should the bank management decide to habour him since the bank is meant for transacting money, not a place to defend criminals? I wonder if more lives are not wasted in the pandemoniun. May God have mercy on us in this country. If our law enforcement agents could not comply with the simple rule, what about common citizens? Oh God, let your will take place very soon.
No matter the disobedience of the driver, the police officer didn’t have the right to shoot him. Most trailer and tanker drivers are very inhumane; they could kill and don’t feel bad about it. In such a case of life-threat, the best the bankers could have done was point out the killer of the trailer driver and avoid all violence. Their stubbornness and ‘good samaritaness’ has cost their bank burnt down and perhaps more lives. Let wisdom guide us and let’s all stand for justice! No Man has the right to take any one’s life.
Jasper, why are you so stupid to comment on what you are not sure off, you would have thought something better in your life than always be an antagonist. You should have blamed the driver or the policeman that carried out the criminal act rather than President Buhari. It is a pity for this so-called jasper to talk evil things.
Since the day Buhari became President, Nigeria nation has not known peace anymore. It’s carnage, disaster, catastrophe, mayhem. Name them, In whatever and in whichever way that aptly describes crisis. Nigeria is indeed a nation in crisis. What A President, What A Man diabolical Tinubu helped to power. Nonsense.

Why did he waste precious lives on a traffic caused by the government as they have refused to repair the roads in Lagos. Imagine the negative effects on the deceased families. It’s well
