JIBWIS distributes foodstuffs, clothes to needy in Katsina- Chairman

The Katsina State Chapter of the Izabal Islamic Sect (JIBWIS), has distributed cash and foodstuffs worth N35 million to 20,000 orphans and widows in the state.

The Sect also distributed new and fairly used clothes worth N3 million to the needy across the state.

Sheikh Yakubu Musa, the State Chairman of the JIBWIS Islamic sect disclosed this to newsmen at a news briefing on Tuesday in Katsina.

Musa revealed that their Islamic sect distributed the foodstuffs, clothes and the financial assistance to the needy during the just concluded Ramadan fasting.

The Chairman disclosed that JIBWIS sourced the materials and commodities from well to do individuals and share same to the needy in order to assist them to undertake their fasting without tears.

Musa urged the wealthy individuals to continue to take care of the needy in the society as directed by Islam.

“We are appealing to the Governors of the 19 Northern States to set up an endowment fund that will take care of Orphan, widows, destitute and other poor people in the sub-region.

“The Governor should assist this class of people as they need assistance from them.” he said

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Islamic sect had been preaching to individuals and organisation to come to the aid of the poor that cannot afford three square meals and cloths to wear.

The Islamic sect had become a Vanguard of struggle for the emancipation of the orphans, widows and other poor people in the society.
