An Internally Displaced Persons Camp

The Victim of Violence Charity Foundation, an NGO in Zamfara, has distributed healthcare relief materials to refuges in the state.

The state Coordinator of the foundation, Malam Sani Almustapha, distributed the relief materials to 450 persons that migrated due to violence of Boko Haram and cattle rustlings in Gusau on Friday.

Almustapha said the donation was to ease the suffering of the victims.

He also said that arrangement have been made to provide special health facilities to the victims in order to improve their healthcare.

The coordinator said the group would provide free medical service to all victims of violence found in the state.

He noted that victims of violence who usually relocate from their land faced the challenges of hunger, poor medical care and shelter, among others.

He therefore urged philanthropists in the state to complement the efforts of the foundation in helping needy persons.

The Programme Officer of the foundation, Mr Jibrin Mohammed, said the organisation consider the displaced persons as one of the most in need among communities.

He said: “We have identified 450 persons who migrated from Borno and other parts of Zamfara State at the three areas which we are now distributing this relief materials.

“These areas are Hayin Dan Hausa, Hayin Malam Ibrahim and Damba Area all in Gusau.”

The relief materials distributed included rice, millet and sugar.

Others were clothing materials for men, women and children as well as mattresses.

He also called on individuals, organisations and agencies to partner with the foundation in supporting victims of violence.
