The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission ( LASIEC ) will on Saturday, June 17, 2017 display the register of voters at each of the Ward Collation Centres in the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas of the State of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The display of the Register of voters is intended to give eligible registered voters the opportunity to confirm the polling unit where they are expected to cast their votes to elect their candidates for the chairmanship and councillorship seats in the various Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas of the State on Saturday, 22nd July, 2017.

The Chairman of the Commission, Justice Ayotunde Phillips (Rtd), has, therefore, appealed to all registered voters in the State to visit their respective Ward Collation Centres and confirm the appropriate polling centres where they were to cast their votes on the day of the elections.

Phillips also enjoined members of the public to take advantage of the opportunity to elect leaders that they believed would serve them well and bring development to the various communities in the State.

She reiterated the commitment of the commission to conduct free, fair and credible elections on Saturday, 22nd July, 2017, pointing out that the commission required the support and cooperation of all stakeholders to accomplish this objective.

It will be recalled that the commission had, on Friday, 7 April, 2017 announced that elections into the 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas of the State would be held on Saturday, 22nd July, 2017.
