The Bayelsa Government says it would collaborate with the European Union (EU) to provide safe drinking water to the people of the state.

The state Commissioner for Water Resources, Mr Tengi Tubonah, disclosed this during a meeting on technical assistance for the implementation of water component of the Niger Delta Support Programme (NDSP) organised by the state government.

According to him, the government is doing everything possible to ensure that potable water was provided to all communities in the state.

The commissioner described EU as a transparent organisation, adding that only competent companies would be allowed to tender for the water project job in the state.

He said his organisation wanted credible companies to bid for jobs in order to ensure that contracts executed meet specified standard.
