Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) on Wednesday failed to lift themselves from the relegation zone of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after playing a goalless draw with visiting Kano Pillars.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the home team had only a major attempt at scoring through Tayo Adebogun in the 23rd minute of the NPFL Match Day 23 fixture.

Adebogun’s thunderous shot after beating Kano Pillars goalkeeper Danladi Isah was however stopped by the defence.

All efforts put in place by 3SC coach Fatai Amoo to secure three points from the match through the introduction of Abu Azeez, Waheed Obisesan and Ibrahim Salau proved abortive.

The trio of Azeez, Obisesan and Salau were introduced in place of Sunday Faleye, Wasiu Jimoh and Tayo Adebogun respectively.

The result made it a sad day for 3SC fans as many of them lamented the great disappointment recorded from the match.

Coach Ibrahim Musa of Kano Pillars said the result of the match was a boost for his team, saying 3SC played well but they (Kano Pillars) were up to the task.

In his reaction, Edith Agoye, the 3SC Assistant Coach, expressed disappointment with the result, considering the team’s position on the log.

“We came into the match with the aim of securing the three points but we met a resilient Kano Pillars team.

“They played more in the defence. But unfortunately we could not convert the few chances we had in the match,’’ he said.

Agoye stated that the team was hopeful of making up for the result in Lagos against the MFM Football Club on Sunday.
