Prof. Francis Eze, the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology (FUTO), Owerri, on Friday advised students of the institution to embrace hard work and discipline in their academics.

Eze gave the advice at the 35th matriculation ceremony for 5,445 newly admitted students of the institution.

He said that their admission into the university was a call to duty and responsibility.

“You should entrench self-respect, positive values and good morals in your academic pursuit and interactions with staff and fellow students.

“The university has approved channels for clarification and laying of complaints; you should utilise them, to avoid misinformation.

“I advise that you blend your academics with social activities but shun illegal associations under any guise.’’
