Niger government lauds NAN

The Niger Government on Friday lauded the efforts of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for its massive and positive reports on the activities of the state government.

Mr JonathanVastsa, State’s Commissioner for information gave the commendation when he paid a courtesy visit to the Minna office of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said that the Agency’s contribution to the political and economy growth of the state cannot be overemphasised.

He said that the state government would continue to provide enabling environment to media organisations and particularly the staff of the agency to operate optimally.

He commended the professional conduct of the staff members and their commitment in disseminating information on policies, programmes and activities of the state government.

“The usual conduct of your staff is commendable as they always demonstrate professionalism and decorum.

“We will continue to give you all the necessary support to excel in reporting our activities as our doors would remain opened to you always,” he said.

He said that the state government will make it a priority to support the Agency to ensure adequate coverage of government activities which was critical to the success of the administration.

Responding, NAN state correspondent in Niger, Aminu Garko, commended the commissioner for the visit to the state office of NAN.

He assured the commissioner that the agency would continue to work closely with the state government in educating and informing members of the public on its activities.

He called on the state government to subscribe to the agency’s general news service for its Television and Radio stations as well as SMS and PR wire for all commissioners and special advisers.
