JAMB Commends CBT Initiative In Ondo

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Saturday in Akure commended the Computer Based Test (CBT) initiative employed by the examination body.

Prof. Labode Poopola, the Chief External Examiner of JAMB gave the commendation.

The 2017 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is holding today nationwide.

Poopola is the Vice Chancellor (VC) of Osun State University, Oshogbo.

The VC who went round the examination centres said the examination started at 7:00 am in most centres, while others started between 7:15 am and 7:30 am.

He described the examination as an experiment that was working very well.

“Though there were initial hitches which had been corrected by the mock examination we conducted weeks ago.

“Out of eleven centres in the state, I have visited seven and I can tell you that things are working perfectly well. Students are conducting themselves very well.

“Nigerians should believe in good system and be talking about solutions and not problems.

“Our nation should work toward perfection. The CBT will always make it difficult for any sharp practice” he said.

The VC also commended security agencies and JAMB officials for a job well done, urging them to be more proactive and dedicated to their duties.

Two candidates at Idris Premiere College, Blessing Sunday and Arigidi Toibokumoh commended JAMB for the conduct of the CBT, saying that their expectations were very high.
