Bariga: Lagos Water Corporation Denies Alum In Water

The Lagos Water Corporation, LWC, has denied the feel of Alum in water supplied to the residents of Bariga, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

This is contained in a statement issued by the Managing Director, LWC, Engr. Muminu Badmus on Friday.

In response to the  report published in one of the dailies on Wednesday, titled: “ Water Supply in Bariga, ” Badmus said the water from the LWC was safe and good for consumption as it was produced in conformity with World Health Organisation’s (WHO) standard.

He stated further that the Quality Assurance Department of the Lagos Water Corporation  had visited the streets mentioned in the report, and collected samples of water in the area, which were taken to the laboratory for thorough analysis.

“The result showed that the Colour, pH (acidity and alkalinity of Water) and Residual Aluminum values are within the acceptable standard, contrary to the report. The findings are clear indication that the water is good and safe for use,” he said.

While assuring the public on the quality of water produced by LWC, Badmus expressed the commitment of the agency in providing potable and uninterrupted water supply across the State.
