Partly cloudy, sunny hazy atmosphere to prevail on Friday – NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted partly cloudy conditions over the Central States of the country on Friday morning with localised thunderstorms Mambilla Plateau and Lafia.

NiMet gave the prediction in its Weather Outlook by the Central Forecast Office (CFO), on Thursday in Abuja.

It added that afternoon and evening localised thunderstorms were expected over the high grounds like Ilorin with day and night temperatures of 32 to 38 and 23 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted Southern States would experience cloudy morning with prospects of localised thunderstorms over the coastal cities of Bayelsa, Eket, Calabar, Yenagoa, and Ikom.

It also predicted isolated thunderstorms over the inland areas like Akure, Ado Ekiti, Benin, Ibadan, Oshogbo, Enugu, Owerri, Awka, Abakaliki and Obudu during the afternoon and evening period.

Southern States was also predicted to have day and night temperatures of 33 to 36 and 23 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, Northern States will experience sunny conditions over Maiduguri, Gusau, Damaturu, Nguru, Katsina, Kano and Sokoto with day and night temperature of 32 to 42 and 18 to 29 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Sunny atmospheric conditions are expected over the North with prospects of localized thunderstorms over some parts of the Central and Southern Cities,” NiMet predicted.
