The Benin Monarch, Oba Ewuare II, has congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State on his victory at the state election petition tribunal which affirmed his election on Friday.
The monarch in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Desmond Agbama, said the affirmation came at a time the services of the governor were needed most, especially in the sanitization of the society, provision of jobs for the teeming unemployed youths of the state as well as infrastructure development.
He expressed joy over the outcome of the election petition, describing it as a landmark judgment.
Oba Ewuare also congratulated the Chairman and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State and urged them to join hands with the governor in the task of moving the State to higher heights.
The Oba appealed to the PDP candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, to accept the decision of the tribunal in good faith and forge ahead in the task of providing democracy dividends for the people. He said that in an election, there is no victor and no vanquished.
